Baite Elayla Association — بيت العائلة
Baite Elayla is a non-profit Franco-Egyptian association, born in 2012 from the initiative of a group of Egyptians settled in France, and officially registered in France in 2013 (1901 law). Founded on the values of solidarity and transmission, it has opened up to all who share these principles. It helps people in need — in France, in Egypt and in several African countries — regardless of origin. One of its founding principles is the renewal of responsibilities: the presidency does not exceed two years. Today it has nearly 500 members.
True to its values, the association extends its solidarity beyond Egypt, with mutual aid actions in several African countries, for the benefit of people in need regardless of origin — convinced that mutual aid knows no borders.
In 2023, the association launched the acquisition of a permanent headquarters (about €1.2 million). Thanks to the surge of solidarity, €800,000 was raised in six months, and the purchase was finalised in April 2024. The headquarters was fitted out (classrooms, meeting rooms, equipped kitchen, function hall) and is now a social, cultural and educational venue serving everyone.
